Tshering Jamtsho is the founder and proprietor of Sky Travels. With an experience of over quarter of a century in the Bhutanese travel industry, Tshering Jamtsho is today one of the leading tour operators in the Kingdom of Bhutan. From 1985-91, when the tourism industry was still a government undertaking, Tshering Jamtsho worked for the Bhutan Tourism Corporation in various capacities, most notably as Tour leader, Liaison Officer for all the Tour Operations in Paro and Manager of Hotel Olathang in Paro district.

Following the privatization of the tourism industry in 1991, he worked as the Officer Incharge of the Trekking Programes in the Tourism Authority of Bhutan until 1995. Soon after the privatization initiative, encouraged by phenomenal growth and sucess of the travel industry, Tshering Jamtsho joined a number of other business entrepreneurs to become one of the first Bhutanese to establish private tour companies in the country. Over the years, based on existing international networks and acquired professional experience, Tshering Jamtsho and Sky Travels have become specialists in catering to clients from all over the world.

With a view to maintain impeccable quality in service, Tshering Jamtsho is personally involved in the day-to-day running and managment of the company. Being an avid traveler and a great outdoors man, he loves to provide a personalized touch by personally leading many of Sky Travels groups visiting Bhutan.

Tshering Jamtsho has a university degree from India and a professional degree in Toursim Managment from the Institute of Toursim and Hotel Managment, Klessheim, Salzburg, Austria. In the quest to learn more and stay in tune with the high demands of the tourism industry, Tshering Jamtsho travels to the USA, Europe and South East Asia from time to time. At home, Tshering Jamtsho has been taking an active part in the development of the tourism industry. He has served as an Executive Member of the Association of Bhutanese Tour Operators (ABTO) from 2004-2006 and represented ABTO at Bhutan Chamber of Commerce and Industries from 2004-2006.

Today, based on his academic and professional background, Tshering Jamtsho can be rated among the first well-trained tour leaders in the country. He has extensive knowledge in the field of tourism in Bhutan. His knowledge of Buddhism, Bhutanese culture, history and environment has earned him many friends around the globe and through these networks he has also been invited as a guest speaker to speak at the California institute of Integral Studies on Buddhism and local Bhutanese deities.
